What about what the cows eat? Is their feed & grass free of pesticides and fertilizers? We’re always hearing how pesticides get into dams and waterways too.

New research from a 4 year study shows organic milk has up to 90% more “beneficial compounds” – such as vitamins and antioxidants believed to help to combat disease.

Other studies show milk having higher levels of omega3 fatty acids, thought to boost health.

In the U S the label “organic” means that it meets the standards set up by the government for an organic label.
Basically it is that everything that goes into the cow is organic; hay, feed, grain, etc.
There are also rules about access to pasture and how the calves are raised.
All milk, organic or conventional, is not allowed to have ANY antibiotics or residue. All milk is tested and tested and tested again to ensure that there are never any antibiotics in any milk produced for humans in the U S

usually cows are fed a growth hormone to make them grow faster and bigger, it’s considered carcinogenic (can cause cancer) in humans (find milk labeled no bRST (something like that) — our ‘normal’ milk is banned in Europe because of this!!

or MOST of the time it means they let the cow roam around and have as much space as they need and are let in when it rains! Also when one cow gets sick they treat them with a homemade treatment but if that doesnt work they give them real medicine and they have to be sent away from the organic farm.

It comes from cows that have not been treated with bovine growth hormone.
The cows are not treated with antibiotics.
The cows’ feed is grown without pesticides.
The cows are supposed to have access to pasture. Which doesn’t mean much.

its milk that is taken from cows that eat organic foods…and when they are milked…the milk doesnt have anything done to it

Organic milk is straight from the cows utters. It has not been processed with pasteurization or treatment. It may be passed through a filter to clean out any dirt or particles, but it is basically straight out of the utters.

It comes in a green bottle and is unpasteurised and un-messed with.
