Xanax is known to have a high potential for addiction, especially for someone who has been addicted before. I have never been addicted to it but have developed a tolerance to it (just like everyone who has been on Xanax for more than a week) and do understand how so many people become addicted to it.

I'm not really sure what you mean by moderately. Most people who are prescribed Xanax are okay when they only take it when they feel a panic attack coming on or are aware of a situation which may cause one. Addiction becomes more likely with daily use because that is how tolerance is developed. So if by moderately you mean once or twice a week it's probably not a huge problem so long as they are prescribed this medication, but if it is daily use then they should probably be monitored more closely. This is all, of course, the responsibility of their doctor. Their doctor should be aware of their history and know what is best. Drug addicts aren't dumb though and will lie to get what they need.

Dunno what else to tell you but best wishes to your friend and it's good that you are so concerned. <3

well, You probably don't want to know how addictive it is, but it's not good. Even just a moderate start can lead to a major addiction. Try talking to him more directly about him, ask him why he's taking it, and tell him that he needs to go back to rehad because it obviously didn't work which means that he was sneaking them while he was in it.

They are very addictive, and the withdrawals are very unpleasant. If your friend was addicted before, it only takes a couple days to be addicted again.

It's pretty addictive. Doctors won't usually prescribe them again for someone who's been addicted, so where did she get them?
